If you’re feeling disillusioned, deeply hurt and betrayed, don’t let go; hold on. Maybe you’re feeling defeated because some goal, dream or ideal hasn’t gone your way despite monumental hopes and efforts.
Maybe you’re feeling lost, confused, left adrift and alone – there are others who are feeling the same right at this moment too. It’s ok; this will pass. Keep hope. It may be that that path or dream you had held true to actually wasn’t meant to have been your story.
Take a moment and take a breath. Give yourself some time and space to heal and self-reflect. You have value and worth in this world. Be kind to yourself. Trust in yourself and in your resilience to find the right path. Life is always going to be a journey of ups and downs. Don’t let the downs drown you with the losses and disappointments. You can survive them because the highs – the moments of great loves and joys do make it worthwhile. Even some of the losses, given time, can feel poignant and valuable in retrospect.
Give yourself time to grieve and to forgive. The only thing within your control is your outlook and perspective. Bitterness is a festering darkness inside; lighten your load and let the weight of it go. One chapter may have ended but there is another yet to begin.
